2nd Grade Teacher
Leigh Green began teaching in her Texas hometown as a full time theater arts substitute teacher after graduating from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor of Science degree. Her creative side and film background brought her to Los Angeles, where she began teaching first grade at Corpus Christi School in the Pacific Palisades. Leigh recently married Mr. James Perry, an architect and fellow Texan. She is transitioning to using her new last name, Mrs. Perry, but will always be Ms. Green to some here at SBS!
Leigh began the theater arts program at Corpus Christi School while completing her graduate degree with a Master of Arts in Education at Loyola Marymount University. In 2016, Leigh joined the St. Brendan School community as the homeroom second grade teacher.
Her own Catholic faith led her to embrace the philosophy of teaching to the whole student and to support the student in becoming a life-long learner. Philosophy is defined in the dictionary as the "love of wisdom and the search for it.". Leigh holds this ideal of philosophy as a model for her own educational setting. She is motivated to provide and promote the ability to continuously learn, analyze and face challenges and changes in society. As a teacher, Leigh’s ideal role in education is to mold future graduates into individuals that contain an excitement for knowledge and a respect for themselves and others.
