5th Grade Teacher
Hannah Dueñez, originally from Ventura California, joined St. Brendan School as the fifth grade teacher in the fall of 2018. During her undergraduate years at UCLA Hannah studied and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and a minor in religion. During her undergraduate years at UCLA she worked as a teaching assistant at Warner Elementary. It was while at Warner that Hannah realized she loved working with students and wanted to become a teacher. Currently she is enrolled at USC earning her master’s degree in Education with a multiple subject credential and a special education credential. Hannah comes to St. Brendan having taught kindergarten at Holy Spirit Saint Mary Magdalene.
Hannah centers her teaching philosophy around the idea that all students are unique individuals and learn in different ways. Hannah strives to incorporate a variety of teaching methods to support the learning needs of learners.
As a teacher, Hannah’s goal is to create a learning space conducive to academic and social growth. Her classroom is a safe space where students feel comfortable sharing ideas. When one walks into Hannah's classroom they will find collaboration and blending learning amongst the students.
In her free time, Hannah enjoys spending time with her maltese mix named Mr. Moon, playing the guitar, soul cycling, script writing, and hanging out at the beach.
